This month we welcome two artists
ANNIE LITTLEFIELD and SUSAN BATES
Annie Littlefield, Spinney Creek Pottery
Annie Littlefield has been working with clay on and off for much of herlife. Being fortunate to live in both Arizona and coastal Maine, her pottery reflects influences from both the seacoast and the American Southwest. She get excited experimenting with new techniques, so my pottery is always evolving and there are never two pieces alike. I make both functional and decorative pottery.
Susan Bates, susanbatesdesigns
Susan Bates has enjoyed spending the last decade working with silver, brass, and copper to make jewelry with a contemporary spirit. Surface texture of each design comes from hammering, etching, or embossing in a rolling mill, and natural stones add color to many of the pieces. More recently she has explored the colorful world of stained glass, creating decorative ornaments for home and garden. She began showing her work at shows, shops, and galleries in 2012 and continues to enjoy investigating new forms and techniques, and sharing what she discover.
