Sea Witch Glass

My journey with glass began in 1988, working at a production studio in Boulder, Colorado. After ten years there, two years as a freelancer, and two sessions at Pilchuck Glass School, I stepped away to follow another career path. Eventually, my passion for glass drew me back, which led to founding Sea Witch Glass in Maine. The process of molten glass transforming from a hot, flowing substance into a smooth, solid form continues to captivate and challenge me.

Each piece begins with careful hand shaping from molten glass. I then refine and enhance it through cold-working, which includes faceting using various lapidary cutting wheels, engravers, and occasionally optical adhesives. Faceting brings added brilliance and vibrancy to every creation. The combination of hot shop techniques (glass blowing and sculpting) with cold working methods (cutting and polishing) results in truly spectacular outcomes. This creative process makes it possible to form endless patterns, swirls, bubbles, and shapes both within and on the surface of each piece.

Guest Artists Program

In 2014, we launched our Guest Artist Program, which runs each year from March to October. This program invites local artists to join our Coop for a month, offering an affordable way to showcase their work. Customers enjoy the diverse art styles, and guest artists gain exposure to a new audience.  If you live in the New Hampshire or Maine seacoast area—whether you’re a dedicated hobbyist or an emerging professional— we’d love to meet you!

Who We Are

Just Us Chickens Artist Cooperative (JUC) is a member-operated shop featuring work by over thirty local artists. We support the arts and creativity in our community while providing visitors with a unique shopping experience.

In addition to our Guest Artist Program, JUC is honored to support Footprints Food Pantry, a local non-profit fighting hunger in our community. Proceeds from our annual plant sale, held in May, are shared with this important organization.

Join Us!

If you are an artist looking to connect with fellow artists and be a part of a team, we want to meet you! Come in, chat with the artist on duty, and see how your work would fit with our shop. We are always looking for new talent in the seacoast area.
