ABOUT ALLISON DONAHUE
Allison Donohue spends a lot of time wandering through fields, woods, marshes, and shorelines observing plants and animals. She has a particular obsession with the ocean and the many islands that dot the Maine coastline. Over the years, the shapes, colors, and images that she has seen have lingered with her, and she feels compelled to create and share art that draws on these experiences in the wild. In recent years, her work is increasingly done on site en plein air, and she has taken paintings on treks up mountains, on hundred mile canoe trips through northern Maine, and on multi-week adventures into the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness of northern Minnesota. Allison's 2D works are in watercolor, acrylics and oils, and her jewelry in sterling silver.
