ANDREA WILLIAMS
ARTIST BIO
A native of Chicago, Ms. Williams now resides in Exeter, NH. She has wide and varied work experience: first-grade teacher, school psychologist, licensed clinical psychologist and published author. Moving to the world of computers, she became a Systems Analyst at USA TODAY, retiring in 1999.
An enthusiastic art collector, Ms. Williams began her adventure into the arts in 1996, taking weaving instruction at Springwater Fiber Workshop in Alexandria, VA. She derives great satisfaction from bringing the beauty, versatility and comfort of handwoven textiles into people’s homes.
In addition to advanced educational degrees from the University of Chicago and the University of Maryland, Ms. Williams holds a degree from the Professional Crafts Program (Fiber), offered by Haywood Community College in Clyde, NC, under the direction of Catharine Ellis, where she received an Award of Distinction.
